PEOPLE across Thurrock are being urged to be more cautious ahead of strike action by fire services tonight. Members of the Fire Brigades Union will strike today between 6.30pm and 11pm over pay, retirement and working conditions. A second strike is planned to take place on Monday, November 4 between 6am and 8am.

FIRE crews were called to assist at the scene of a road traffic collision near Arena Essex Raceway, Arterial Road, Purfleet. Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free a female casualty, working alongside Ambulance Service paramedics.
FIRE CREWS were called to South Ockendon on Monday after reports of a car on fire.
