TWO great away wins for East Thurrock United and Grays Athletic in the FA Trophy whilst Thurrock and Tilbury drew in their league games.

Fire brigade strike

PEOPLE across Thurrock are being urged to be more cautious ahead of strike action by fire services tonight. Members of the Fire Brigades Union will strike today between 6.30pm and 11pm over pay, retirement and working conditions. A second strike is planned to take place on Monday, November 4 between 6am and 8am.

Police warnings on Halloween

ESSEX Police is urging everyone to use the appropriate number if they need to contact officers during the Halloween period. Members of the public should never hesitate to call 999 in a genuine emergency such as where there is a crime or serious incident in progress, a serious risk of injury or a risk of serious damage to property.

Fright night coming to the Thameside

PATRONS of the Thameside Theatre will be shivering in their seats at the end of the week. A special film night is planned for Friday (1 November) evening – a Fright Night for the over 18s to enjoy.
