Artifact: Art in Thurrock

The work of Lata Upadhyaya as part of Artifact should illuminate the borough. Working from a workshop in Grays, Lata supported by her husband Jonathan and a coterie of artists, they hope to encourage the idea of art inspiring the environment in Thurrock. Her work is wonderful. We spoke to Jonathan about the work and their hopes for the future.

Fire At East Tilbury Re-Use Plant

On arrival crews found that the machine was completely alight. Initially crews were hampered by poor access to water, but using a water relay in which fire engines took it in turns to leave the site and re-fill their water tanks before returning - crews had the fire surrounded by 17:20hrs.
