The Three Belles to put you in the mood at the Civic Hall

THE Three Belles are a 1940s Vocal Trio who met at University and began putting on 1940s nights and performing many classic hits such as In The Mood and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy at venues across the country. They dress in 1940s WREN costumes and always have victory rolls and red lipstick. They have performed at many prestigious venues such as The Savoy and The Royal Albert hall as well as many festivals including The Isle of Wight Festival!

Free swimming for kids at Impulse Leisure this weekend

On Saturday 27th July & Sunday 28th July, Impulse Leisure are offering FREE* swimming for kids under eight at Blackshots, Corringham and Belhus Park as part of the Change4Life scheme. ‘While it’s great to relax after a long school year, it’s also important to make sure that kids stay active during the holidays – and the longer days are the perfect time for adults to join in and give something new a try, too,’ says Karl Hayes, Group Operations Manager. ‘Kids aged five to 16 need to do at least 60 minutes of physical activity that gets their heart beating faster than usual, and they need to do it every day to burn off calories and prevent them storing up excess fat. So why not take advantage of our free sessions and make sure this summer is a happy and healthy one?’

Sunday’s acts follow a similar patter with DJ Music and the local dance groups and amateur singers and groups before Funky Voices opens the main stage action, followed by Filthy Gorgeous, Danny White, Lady Grey and The Earls, Solid Vinyl Show Case, Magic Sticks, Big Brovaz, Soca Divetts, James Anderson, Cali Jones, The Mend, David Van Day, S Club, Gareth Gates, and The Heaters.

THE Royal Opera House TAKE FIVE Summer School for instrumentalists and singers takes place at Palmer’s College in Grays from Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 July. Young musicians from five areas: Barking & Dagenham, Essex, Havering, Southend and Thurrock join professional musicians and singers in the three day Summer School.
