Tip-Toe stage school star at the Royal Albert Hall

Your Opera House needs you!

Royal Opera House Thurrock will be running ten community workshops in which local people can help make everything needed for the 120-strong cast and the final production of Hot House. Working with professional set, costume and prop designers, workshop participants will help create ball gowns, play a part in constructing a gondola or get to paint the proscenium arch of a Venetian opera house. Everyone is welcome to come along, no previous experience is necessary just enthusiasm and a willingness to have a go. The workshops are suitable for children aged eight and above. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Jazz legend Buddy Greco comes to the Thameside

Jazz legend Buddy Greco is set to star at the Thameside Theatre in Grays on Wednesday, May 16. Greco's name is associated with a host of legends, through Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr whilst recording over 70 albums and 100 singles.

Alice through the Royal Opera House

These inspiring workshops are based on the themes of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Created for The Royal Ballet by Christopher Wheeldon last year and having made a welcome return in March 2012, this smash-hit production is bursting with fresh, witty choreography and striking designs. The activities offer families the opportunity to join in with singing and dancing, design props and scenery and compose songs and poems.

The “King of Pop” comes to the Thameside Theatre in Grays on Saturday (14 April). Amir Sharma’s portrayal of Michael Jackson in his prime has to be the most vocally and visually accurate tribute to have ever toured UK theatres.

Opera House and Grays Convent collaborate

Strictly comes to the Thameside

THE DANCING stars of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, Katya Virshilas and Pasha Kovalev will be appearing at the Thameside Theatre on Thursday night at 7.30pm. An evening of exhibition dance routines featuring the Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango Jive and more....with two guest dancers.

Curry on the menu at the Thameside

Hardeep is on tour with his "chat show with curry". A delicious curry will be cooked on stage by the Celebrity Masterchef finalist. Lucky audience members will get the chance to sample Hardeep's cooking during the show.

Thurrock artists ‘Feed or Greed’ exhibition set to raise awareness of food waste

The exhibition has been put on by the group from UEL in association with the United Nations Photo Library, and the work being exhibited also includes some incredible and striking images taken from some of the areas of our world most affected by drought, food shortages and unnecessary war.

TOPS-Oliver: Consider yourself a success!!

There were some excellent cameo’s as well particularly Reg Wheeler , Vanda Mercer and Martyn Williams . Gas fitter by day and Victorian landlord by night Keith Williams welcomed us to his inn to hear the excellent Victoria McKenzie bloom in the role of tragic Nancy. Victoria is blessed with a strong voice and a charming stage presence . Her relationship with Bill Sykes played by a menacing Gareth Barton worked extremely well . Small children in the audience gasped with fear every time Gareth came on stage so menacing was his portrayal of this evil man.

Glee lights up the Thameside!

IT WAS a sell-out at the Thameside Theatre on Friday night as schools and dance groups performed on the stage in a special night of Glee. The night, organised by Thurrock Music Services was a superb, colourful, vibrant and professional production that every single person should be proud of.

THIS is the second time Holly has appeared on Your Voice and Holly is, clearly, one of those artists that we have seen grow and grow. The confidence exuded by the fifteen-year-old as she picks up the guitar and plays a classic U2 track is impressive.

Film showcase: “Prevention” a cure for film fans

Last year's 2nd years on this course undertook a 48-hour project where they had to shoot a short film of their choice. However, this year, we were required to create a 3-5 minute short film which would be entered into the Sundance film festival.
