DETECTIVES in Essex have seized a large quantity of drugs, believed to be herbal cannabis and cocaine, with a street value in excess of £1million, in a drugs operation in Thurrock on Friday, February 7. Two vans were stopped by police in Thurrock following the operation by officers from the Kent & Essex Serious Crime Directorate around 7am and two men were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs.

VERY recently, a young girl was walking home from work after her long shift. It was around 10pm and she only lived 10 minutes away so the walk shouldn't be eventful. Little did she know that only a few yards from her home, muggers lay in waiting. As she turned the last corner to her home, she heard footsteps behind her. As she turned to investigate she was accosted by two young men in hoods. They demanded her mobile phone, which, shocked, she gave them, hoping and praying that was it.
ESSEX POLICE would like to speak to two men who were caught on camera in a garden in Grays. The men were snapped at the time a burglary took place at Richmond Road in Grays.
A WOMAN was left with facial injuries after an object was thrown through the window of a bus in Grays. The bus was in Brentwood Road at about 7.40pm on Wednesday, January 22, when it passed a group of youths.

SENIOR Investigating Officer, DI Anne Cameron, said: "We want to establish a motive behind this assault and so need to identify and speak with this man as a matter of priority. As well as wanting a name of the man shown in the efit, we are also keen to hear from anyone who saw three black men on Belmont Road or at Grays Beach last Monday evening.”
HEROIN, cocaine, amphetamines and cannabis were concealed in cookware in a trailer which arrived from the Netherlands. The haul, described by officials as their biggest ever, was made on January 19. The drugs seized weighed a total of 700kgs.
ESSEX POLICE attended at a park in Corringham after reports of a large disturbance involving local schools. Police attended at Corringham Park on Friday afternoon (Jan 24th) where a large number of Gable Hall students had gathered.
CREWS were called to tackle a blaze at a car showroom. Firefighters arriving at the scene reported that the incident involved several vehicles which were 100 per cent alight. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels and one main jet to extinguish the fire, which was out by 04:03 hrs. They then used a high pressure fan to clear the area of smoke.
POLICE want to identify a man caught on CCTV at the time that a quantity of petrol was stolen from an Asda filling station at Thurrock Park Way in Tilbury.
The theft happened at around 9.45am on Thursday January 2. A man pulled up at the station in a green Ford Focus and filled the car with more than £50 of petrol but then left the premises without making any attempt to pay.
POLICE would like to speak to this man about the theft of meat from a shop in South Ockendon. A man walked into the Co-op, in Canterbury Parade, at about 8.30pm on January 6 and selected some meat items from the display before putting them into a shopping basket.
THE Essex Police trial which sees response officers equipped with body-worn video cameras to tackle domestic abuse starts next week (Friday, January 17). Researchers from the College of Policing will be working closely with the force on the initial three month trial, which will see Essex Police take the lead nationally with this new evaluation approach.
THURROCK Council’s trading standards team is warning people to beware of tricksters using the recent bad weather to get into homes. In one incident in the east of the borough, a man knocked on doors claiming nearby flooding had put the water supply in danger and he had to come in to turn it off.
POLICE are appealing for help to trace a blue Arnda Reynolds racing tandem cycle that has been stolen from a locked garden in Tilbury. The bike was taken sometime between 6pm on Friday December 13 and 8.30am on Saturday December 14 from a property in Arkwright Road.
