POLICE are appealing for information after £80,000 worth of Namibian beef was stolen from a freight company in Grays. The beef was stolen from a refrigerated lorry parked in the yard of Premier Freight Services in Wharf Road, Grays, between 5pm on December 28 and 4am on December 29.
POLICE in Thurrock are appealing for information following an assault on a man on December 30 between 1-4pm within the Chafford Hundred Nature Reserve. The victim, a 47 year old man from Grays, was attacked from behind and pulled to the floor where he was kicked in the head several times. Whilst unconscious cash was taken from his black rucksack and he sustained a broken nose.
THE number of people killed in road crashes in Essex has risen after a two-year drop. DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a robbery in Tilbury. The attack happened in Tilbury when a 23-year-old Grays man had been walking through a field adjacent to St Chad’s Road at 3:30pm on Saturday, December 29. He was approached by two men who struck him in the head, causing him to fall down. While on the floor, they beat and stabbed him in both legs before stealing his mobile telephone.
The offence took place on Monday, September 24; since when Lloyds Bank has been carrying out enquiries to identify the three criminals. Officers are now left to continue with the enquiry.

Littleboy and his daughter ran two hairdressing salons, both called Headcandi, from premises in Gidea Park and Chafford Hundred in Grays, Essex. Littleboy was the main organiser of the fraud and, together with Katy, stole the identity of a legitimate businessman. Using his details, they submitted bogus claims for refunds of VAT for their hairdressing business. Their criminal activity included keeping tax and National Insurance deducted from the wages of their staff instead of paying it to HMRC.
