Grays Athletic chief executive charged with conspiracy to commit violence

THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE of Grays Athletic has been charged with conspiracy to commit violence. Andy Swallow, 52, Biscayne Avenue, London, was charged on Wednesday 8th August with conspiracy to commit violent disorder.

Two Tilbury men plead guilty to theft of a rhino head

Tony Moore and Jamie Channon, both of Tilbury pleaded guilty to two counts of the offence - one in relation to the rhino head theft from Haslemere Educational Museum on May 27 last year and the other over 13 supermarket burglaries reports

Manhunt over after Ockendon man arrested

Leon Gherbi-Bahia, 28, of Orchard Road, South Ockendon, will appear before magistrates in Basildon today, (Friday, August 10), after being arrested on an outstanding warrant for offensive weapon offences and failing to appear for sentencing.

Cash snatch at Londis store in Grays

The suspect was white, aged 19 to 20, 5ft 6 to 7in tall, of skinny build and he had short dark hair. He was wearing black clothing. Two from Grays arrested over shooting in Aylesbury

A MAN and a woman arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Stour Close, Aylesbury, have been released on bail to allow for police enquiries to continue.

Company at Tilbury docks fined after man has both legs amputated

The dock worker was returning to a safe refuge under a quayside crane when he was knocked down by a 45ft container being lowered by a reach stacker. The driver of the reach stacker, unaware that Mr James was on the quayside and had been knocked down, continued to lower the container onto his legs. They were crushed to such a degree that they later had to be amputated.

Man wanted after burglary near Grays wharf

A flat in Chalk Court, Jetty Walk, was broken in to after a window was smashed between 7.30am and 3.30pm on July 19. Stolen from the property was a Sony PlayStation 3, a Samsung laptop computer and a Sony digital camera.

Archers Pub shooting: Man arrested

The shooting took place shortly after four men had entered The Archer Public House on Garron Lane in South Ockendon at 10:20pm on Monday, May 14, searching for a local man. A firearm was discharged by one of the men in the car park as the intended victim fled the scene.

Man mugged at Grays town centre ATM

A 25-year-old Rayleigh man had withdrawn cash from an ATM on the high street at 6pm on Friday, July 27 when four men attempted to snatch the money from his hand. He managed to shrug them off and continued walking down the high street. However, when he reached the Wharf Road junction, the same four men assaulted him and stole his bag before running off.

CCTV images released of axe robbery at Lakeside

The attack happened when three men entered Goldsmiths shortly before 10:30am on Thursday, July 19 and threatened staff with a hammer and an axe forcing them to hand over approximately 30 Rolex watches valued at nearly £170,000.

Stanford teen victim of Pitsea robbery

POLICE are appealing for information following a robbery in Pitsea on July 20. Around 7.15pm an 18-year-old man from Stanford Le Hope was in the old Market Retail Park, Pitsea, near to Kentucky Fried Chicken when a man approached him from behind and punched him in the side of the face. The suspect then grabbed the cash he was holding in his hand and ran off.

Man in court over Aveley street fight

Police had been called at 10.20pm on Wednesday, July 25, with reports of several people injured following a disturbance in Aveley High Street. Four people were injured, one man, aged 32 from Grays, with a serious head injury, who was taken to Queens Hospital in Romford where he remains. Martin Wall was later arrested and charged.

Man charged following Ice Cream Van attack

Officers arrived and found a 29-year-old man from Tottenham, north London with head, arm and leg injuries. An ice-cream van had also been damaged.

Ice cream man attacked at Grays Beach Park

THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Two men and a woman were arrested in the early hours of Thursday, July 26, 2012 after police were called to reports of a 29-year-old man being assaulted off Thames Road in Grays the previous day.
