Stop check lands cocaine haul

Officers stopped a car on Aveley Close and found the cocaine in the vicinity. They arrested a 40-year-old man from Hornchurch in east London and a 31-year-old man from Canning Town, also in east London, on suspicion of committing drug offences.

Police clamp down on drug dealing and “gang related” violence in Chafford Hundred

Working in conjunction with colleagues from the British Transport Police (BTP) officers from Essex Police targeted the area around the railway station on Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25. The operation was implemented following an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and other crimes in the area of the station.

Further police appeal after fight in Grays

The disturbance took place on London Road at 1:30am on Sunday, August 19. Officers arrived and found three victims. A 24-year-old man from Plaistow in east London and a 26-year-old man from West Ham in east London had sustained slash injuries believed to have been caused by a broken bottle while a 24-year-old man from Grays sustained minor shoulder injuries.

A BULPHAN pensioner who enjoyed a jet-setting pensioner with a yacht and homes across Europe has been jailed for a year over a £97,000 benefits fraud. Paul Hoyle, 72, claimed benefits while living the high life with his partner Kim Burrell, 52.

Burglary in Arnhem Avenue, Aveley

The break-in happened in Aveley when thieves forced their way into a house on Arnhem Avenue between 11pm Friday, August 10 and 6am Saturday, August 11 and stole a large-screen television, jewellery, electrical items, cash and the keys to a silver Ford Focus before then taking the car which was parked outside. This was though found in Tilbury a few days later.

Grays man in court over GBH

A 32-year-old man from Grays will be appearing in court this morning (Monday, August 20) following an incident in Grays in the early hours of Sunday, August 19 where three people, two men and a woman, received injuries in a fight in London Road.
