POLICE ARE continuing to search for a man after he made was suspected of making threats to people known to him. An Essex Police spokesperson said: "Police are searching for a man after they were called to an address on the evening of Thursday May 24th.
Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Aveley in which a BMX jump bike was stolen. Entry was gained to a house in Usk Road, South Ockendon, via a rear window between 9am on May 5 and noon on May 7.
Between 10.40pm on Tuesday, May 22 and 5.40am the next day, a suspect gained entry through a rear door and stole an estimated £1,350 worth of items including cash, a blue HP laptop, keys, a wallet and a bag. One of the victims, a man in his 30s, was asleep upstairs with his 7 month old daughter whilst the suspects committed the burglary.
Police investigating an attempted murder at a South Ockendon pub have released images of a man who they want to question in connection with the incident.
The man was riding a green Benelli Tornado motorcycle which was in collision with a blue Mazda 2. The driver of the Mazda, a man in his 80s from West Bergholt near Colchester, was uninjured.
An 18 year old man has been arrested in connection with an incident in South Ockendon on Monday, May 14. Also, David Knight, 43, of Crammavill Street, Grays, appeared before magistrates in Southend on Saturday, May 19, charged with one count of attempting to cause GBH with intent and one count of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Operation Mex, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday this week (May 15/16) involved approximately a dozen officers carrying out plain clothes and uniformed patrols to target offenders suspected to be involved in fuel, number plate and vehicle thefts.
Jamie Channon, 33, of Melba Gardens, Tilbury, Essex, admitted burgling Haslemere Educational Museum in the early hours of 27 May last year. He was remanded in custody by Guildford Crown Court to await sentencing.

THREE men have been arrested in connection with an investigation into an attempted murder in south-west Essex. Officers detained the three men after executing warrants at two addresses in Grays and another location in South Ockendon early today, Thursday May 17.
Ds Eileen Mullins said: "We believe this wasn’t just a random attack, and we need witnesses to come forward to help us with our investigation. Were you in the Godman Road area at the time and saw anything suspicious? If you do know anything, no matter how small, please get in contact.”
At 5.30pm on Monday, May 7, the victim – a man in his late 20s – was riding his scooter after making a takeaway delivery when a suspect ran up to him and pushed his scooter over, causing him to fall off and into the road. He was then kicked by three other suspects before a suspect tried to steal the scooter. They made off empty handed but then returned and threw objects at the victim and the scooter before finally running off to the rear of Rotary House.
Detectives investigating an incident at a pub in South Ockendon yesterday evening (May 14) are treating this as attempted murder. Around 10.20pm four men entered the Archers pub in Garron Lane, searching for a local man, aged in his 20s. One of the men was armed with a shotgun that was subsequently discharged in the car park as the intented victim fled the scene. No one was injured.
