Taxi driver robbed in Aveley

At 3am on Sunday, July 10, suspects were in a taxi when the the driver, a man in his 20’s, noticed his money bag missing. When he asked for it back, a knife was produced before they ran off. The taxi driver was uninjured. Investigating officer, Dc David Wilkinson, said: "We believe that the men in the CCTV may have come from the Romford, Barking or Dagenham area, so we really need people to look at this CCTV and see if they know who they are. If you do recognise them, please get in touch.”

Tilbury death: Man identifed as Chadwell St Mary man

The man was later identified as a 25-year-old from the Chadwell St Mary area. He was white, 5ft 7in tall and was wearing white and blue Umbro shorts and a blue hoody with red and white lettering.

Arrests after CCTV appeal in Chafford robbery

Two people have been arrested following a CCTV appeal, in connection with a robbery on the Chafford Hundred railway footbridge, near Lakeside Shopping Centre, on Tuesday, March 8. An 18-year-old man from Barking and an 18-year-old man from Dagenham were both arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been released on police bail, pending further investigation, until Wednesday, September 7.

Body in Tilbury: Bus service temporary changes

Due to a police incident and the closure of the A1089 Dock Approach Road, several bus services in Thurrock have been suspended or changed. The 11 bus service has been temporarily suspended in the Chadwell St Mary area. In addition the Ensign 66 service is travelling as far as The Bull public house in Little Thurrock.

Three charged after high speed chase

A BMW car that had been reported as being stolen from Romford was spotted by police on the A127 at Rayleigh on Thursday evening (July 28) The car failed to stop and made off via Rochford, Hockley, Rawreth, wrong way down Rayleigh High Street. The car was finally brought to a halt using a stinger device on the A13 near Stanford-le-Hope and three men were arrested by Essex Police officers.

High speed chase ends in smash on A13

BURGLARS who stole a high value BMW from Romford, led police on a high speed car chase for over twenty miles, ending up smashing the car on the A13 near Stanford-le-Hope. The car was stolen after the keys were taken from a house in Romford. The car was then picked up by the police interceptors near Eastwood on the A127. A high speed chase ensued taking the car through a number of towns and careering the wrong way down a number of one way streets.

Tilbury dispersal order to tackle anti-social behaviour

Tilbury Inspector Paul Hooks, in charge of the town’s neighbourhood policing team, said: “Dispersal orders are working well in other parts of the borough and we are determined to crack down on Anti-social Behaviour in the town which affects the whole community. Man wanted after mugging in Grays

At 1.05pm on June 1, a suspect demanded the 24-year-old man’s bag before punching the victim in the head. After a struggle, the suspect made off with the bag. He suffered from bruising and scratches. The bag and its contens, personal affects, were only worth an estimated £3.

Cannabis factory left high and dry in Aveley

Officers were called by an electricity company, who uncovered the drugs factory whilst executing their own warrant at around 1.15pm yesterday, July 26. When officers arrived, they stumbled on seven built-for purpose rooms in a large commercial unit. There was also living quarters, suspected to have been used by the people tending to the crop.
