Small businesses in Thurrock low in confidence claim businesses bosses.

Essex FSB Chairman, Iain Wicks, said: “The report, which looks at the general health of the small business sector, has found in the fourth quarter of 2010 that business confidence fell for the third successive quarter to a net score of -13.2, the deepest decline since the survey began in March 2010 and these national figures reflect what businesses here in Essex, Havering and Redbridge are telling us.

Auditions set for Your Voice

The next Your Voice Event will be held on Thursday 17 February 2011 at the Thameside Theatre in Grays and open auditions for this event are happening on Saturday 29 January 2011 at 3pm at St Clere’s School in Stanford-Le-Hope. All singers will be asked to sing a ‘Verse and Chorus’ from one of their favourite songs a capella (without music). The successful singers will then take to the stage on 17 February at the Thameside Theatre.

Education boss points finger at Lansdowne primary

Thurrock ‘most improved’ GCSEs

The Department for Education said on Wednesday (12 January): “Southwark, Thurrock and Westminster are the most improved local authorities in terms of percentage of pupils achieving five GCSE (or GCSE or equivalent) passes at A* to C including English and mathematics from 2007 to 2010.”

BELHUS Cricket Club has finalised its plans to deliver the Cricket Foundation's "Chance to Shine" programme in partnership with Thurrock-based schools for 2011.
