Many had understood that not only was it necessary to ease the burden of traffic but that it had been mentioned several times as a key part of helping the increased traffic that will come as part of the deep water port at DP World in Stanford-le-Hope.

OVER 250 Sikh demonstrators from across the UK demonstrated outside the Grays Sikh temple in Maidstone Road in an attempt to prevent meat and alcohol from being served at a wedding. The group confronted the temple committee who were adamant that the party would go ahead. The demonstrators went into the hall to prevent the ceremony.
The recycling and re-use centre in St Clement’s Way, West Thurrock is to be mothballed for up to three years, Thurrock Council has announced. The council is looking at having to save around £15 million in the next financial year — and £10 million in each of the two years following that — and in addition it has been forced to make millions of pounds of savings in the current year.
THE DAYS of Thurrock students getting the bus to school appear to be over as the council have pulled the plug on the annual bill of nearly £400,000 spent ferrying teenagers back and fro from college.

WHAT was fascinating about the Your Voice sessions was the variety of vocal techniques among the singers. Some had feared that each singer would have been a variation on a theme, which could have made for a long night. Far from it: there was a refreshing variety of styles and an interesting collection of songs sung.
YourThurrock knows only too well that the school is always awash with activities and interests. This was never more apparent than at the open evening where from the arts to music to history and science, the school illustrated the work they do with a series of fascinating and dynamic activities.
The players have become a collection of individuals. They only thing that makes them a team is the kit they are wearing. They need to appreciate that their careers are approaching crisis point. For many there were times in the West Ham Academy or League One or League Two. Their time at Grays was meant to be a period of re-adjustment followed by a bounce back up the league. Now they are traipsing off at the Mill Field realising that their careers are imploding in front of their eyes.

Samantha entered UK Sports nationwide Tall and Talented Competition last year. The competition is aimed at athletes aspiring to represent Great Britain at the 2016 Olympics. Samantha sailed through the trials for basketball and rowing. She was unsuccessful in basketball but was one of 40 to secure a place onto the GB Rowing Start Development Squad.
A number of organisations became involved in her case but the mother was particularly scathing regarding the performance of her primary school. She said: "There attitude seemed to be to just drag her into school. They always seemed to be too busy doing something else."
The mother's point was underlined by the dramatic turnaround in her daughter's attendance once she went to secondary school in September. She said: "My daughter now had 96% attendance. The school are superb and have a fantastic support structure.
Firefighters were called to a derelict church hall on fire in Moore Avenue, Grays this morning (Tuesday). The hall measured approximately 50 x 10 metres and was 100 percent alight.
