Mosaic: In concert on behalf of St Luke’s hospice

A FORTY STRONG choir will be performing at the Stifford Clays social club in Crammavill Street, Stifford Clays next week. Mosaic will be painting pictures with their words on behalf of St Luke's Hospice.

IT IS the last four days to sign up for the St Luke's Hospice Stiletto & Slipper Walk at Lakeside this Saturday night. The walk begins at 10.30pm and finishes at 2am.

A film commissioned last year by Thurrock Council with money from the Government’s Local Area Agreement has been acclaimed at an international film festival. Computer Love, a dance film by Southend-based video artist David Valentine won a special mention by the judges at the IDN festival in Barcelona – the world’s biggest digital dance festival.

Council: Let’s talk in Tilbury

Indoor cricket results

Belhus "A" are now the only team with a 100% record after achieving a 52-run victory over Horndon on the Hill in the fifth week of U14 indoor cricket competition at Grays School. Belhus, batting first, were again quick out of their blocks, looking for runs at every opportunity. Their start was domineering as they scored at over ten runs per over, but four run-outs applied a brake to the run siege.

THURROCK suffered a heartbreak defeat at Oakfield on Saturday, it was a game that could have gone either way, in the end the visitors edged it, but Thurrock with 3 first choice second rows missing through injury, and prop Seb Rate crying off the morning of the match with illness, the pack was hastily reshuffled. Luke Crowhurst, normally a back row player stepped up to the second row, and he was joined by evergreen Lee Herrington, and John Murphy made his hooking debut after joining from Colchester. But the pack played brilliantly and although against a larger pack they out scrimmaged, and competed well in the line out.
