Thurrock Council’s Tenant Participation Team is hosting its annual All Our Yesteryears event which is 1960s themed, and will be held on Friday, 22 October from 7.30pm until 11pm at the Civic Hall, Blackshots.
Living Books was first launched in Thurrock, April this year and are about Thurrock residents who have faced various challenges in their lives which range from caring for someone with dementia to living with a disability, overcoming substance misuse or coping with redundancy.
VOLUNTEERS are needed to help protect the rights of vulnerable people and minority groups in Thurrock. Police are appealing for residents to come forward and help support the Thurrock Independent Advisory Group.
Council tenants have a chance to win £100 worth of Lakeside Shopping vouchers if they take advantage of gas safety checks offered by Thurrock Council. If tenants provide access at the first appointment, they will be entered into the monthly prize draw.

THE WAR for planning powers and regenearation in the borough looks like it is over as the Coalition government announced today that all powers are to return to Thurrock Council.
The Planning Committee approved a proposal for outline planning permission for the replacement of industrial buildings with a development of up to 154 new homes, public open space and infrastructure. The area proposed is on the William Ball Site on Gumley Road.

The team, who are all aged 18-25, have been living with local families and offering their support to local organisations including TRUST, Batias, the Tenant Participation Team, Grangewaters outdoor education centre and Thurrock Council’s Youth & Connexions service.
