The first point to mention is that the figures quoted from YT combine all types of burglary, including attempts. This includes everything from people’s homes, to sheds, allotment buildings, staff locker rooms, and commercial/leisure premises etc. The figures for “solving” a burglary of something other than someone’s home has always been much lower due to the fact most of these are reported overnight, in places where there is often little in the way of witnesses, CCTV or forensic enquires.
