"Some vehicles have been marooned in deep water in country lanes and on some minor roads. If drivers are confronted by a large pool of water on the roads they should avoid trying to drive through it and seek an alternative route."

Knifeman wanted over attacks on Tilbury taxi drivers

The first incident happened at about 10.15pm on Tuesday March 13 when a taxi driver stopped to pick up a man at Thackeray Avenue, Tilbury. The man threatened the driver with a large knife and robbed him of £75. In a similar incident on March 15 at about 10pm a taxi driver was booked to pick up a fare at Pageants Close, Tilbury but when he arrived he was robbed of £159 by a man armed with a knife.

Man with “distinctive nose” wanted after Grays street robbery

The assailants are described as white and in their early 20s. One man was further described as approximately 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build, has short dark hair and was wearing a black jacket, dark-blue jeans, white trainers and a black baseball cap at the time while his accomplice is approximately 5ft 2in tall, of skinny build and was wearing all white – tracksuit, trainers and baseball cap. He has light, short hair and a distinctive pointy nose.

E-fit released of man wanted for assault in Grays

The attack happened when a 41-year-old man was walking through Grays Park off Bedford Road shortly before 9am on Monday, March 26. He was approached by two men who asked him for a cigarette. When he refused, they threatened him with violence, forcing the man to hand over a cigarette. When he did, he was punched in the face anyway. The attackers both walked off towards Clarence Road.

East Tilbury councillor at centre of police “racial abuse” probe

A VETERAN East Tilbury councillor is at the centre of an alleged race storm involving a Romanian Labour canvasser. The 28-year-old canvasser has made a complaint to Essex Police that she was racially abused whilst handing out leaflets outside Stanford House in East Tilbury on Thursday afternoon (4.20pm on Thursday 19th).

Men wanted after Ruskin Road robbery

Police have released two CCTV images of two men they wish to identify in connection with an investigation into a robbery of a minicab driver in Ruskin Road, Grays on April 7. Both men are described as white.

Tilbury man wanted after parole breach

Wayne Reed, who has breached his parole, is described as white and has tattoos on both arms and his back as well as scars under his chin and right hand. The 34-year-old unemployed man last lived on Princess Margaret Road in East Tilbury and has links to nearby Tilbury.

The man from Grays is charged with stealing from the Choice store on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 and Friday, March 30, 2012.

Investigating officer, Pc Marek Jaworski, said: "The bike pictured is fairly distinctive, and would be easily recognisable. Brothers jailed after stabbing of ticket inspector

Following an investigation by British Transport Police (BTP), Robert Culley, who had earlier pleaded guilty to wounding and possession of a bladed article, received four year and two year detention orders, to run concurrently. His brother, Charles Culley, who had pleaded guilty to common assault, received a four-month detention and training order.
