Daniel MALLETT, a 19-year-old unemployed man from Peartree Close, South Ockendon, was charged with one count of burglary dwelling, and was remanded in custody prior to his court apperance at Basildon Magistrates Court this morning (December 2).

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a parking meter in Grays. The meter, in Grange Road, was stolen between 6pm on November 17 and 8am on November 18.

A YOUTH found guilty of attempted murder of a disabled woman in South Ockendon has been sentenced to six years in prison. The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons was found guilty in May but has been on remand awaiting sentence until now.
The incident happened around 10.30am on Saturday, November 19 on the roundabout at the junction of the A13 and M25 and involved a black Vauxhall Corsa and blue Vauxhall Astra. British Transport Police (BTP) detectives are appealing for information after a passenger had his iPad stolen from his hands whilst onboard a train at East Tilbury. Investigators have also now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident which took place on Tuesday, 13 September 2011.
