Hockey results

This game saw a Thurrock team unrecognisable from the previous week in the NE14 Hockey Div 3SE. The home side were dominant through the game and produced some of their best hockey of the season. However it was the away side that took the lead against the run of play with a well worked short-corner. Their lead only lasted for a few minutes as Matt Gaut broke through Wapping’s midfield and defence with the ball falling to Jacob Agoro to level the scores.

Thurrock Hockey Results

Things didn't go quite as planned for the T's in the first half with Phoenix mainly dominating in midfield with short sharp passes and flowing play. However the T's had opportunities of their own and with a defence consisting of Luke Danbrook, Tommy Ing and Andy Sargeant shutting the door on Pheonix attackers things looked promising for the second half.

T-Birds top the table after taming Bulls

Tees scrums were on top of Aylesford from the start but they came back strong for the second part of the first half in open play. Tees were trying out some new formations in the backs which involved some change of personnel in positions which lead to our defence being tested regularly.

Indoor cricket league

n their latest victory, they overcame Thurrock "B" by 53 runs, thanks to Gibbon's 25 not out, while team mates Tom Duck scored 22 and Connor Boreham hit 23. Orsett finished on 121 for the loss of three wickets and then bowled out Thurrock "B" for 68.

Police investigate fire in Conway Gardens, Grays

Firefighters tackled a fire in the centre of a block of nine garages. The officer in charge reported that the fire originated in one garage and spread to the two garages adjacent to it.

T-Birds continue their winning ways with relentless performance against a well organised Richmond. It looked like the T's relentless rucking plus good distribution was the key to the success of the team on a unseasonally warm afternoon.
