Fuel protests expected in borough this weekend

It is anticipated that the protests will start at 10am on Saturday at Coryton Oil Refinery, The Manorway in Stanford le Hope. Further disputes are anticipated in Grangemouth, Middlesborough and South Wirral.

Sickening attack on elderly woman in Chadwell

“It really does take callous thieves to do this to someone, and I am urging anyone that was in the area that saw these three, or knows who did this, to come forward to police. Fires at two Tattoo parlours probed

"When fire crews arrived at the incident they quickly extinguished the fire in the tattoo shop. A woman who lived in the flat above the shop managed to escape from her flat, she suffered from smoke inhalation as the smoke had entered her property. Fire crews gave oxygen therapy to the woman in her forties and she was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.

This will be an interesting year for UKIP at the ballot box and especially in Thurrock. Clive Broad gained 20% of the vote in the Stifford Clays ward and Tim, himself made a great impression in Aveley. They don't need a landslide, just a gentle nudge to obtain their first UKIP councillor in the borough.

Letters found underneath murder accused’s bed describe attack

LETTERS detailing a violent confrontation were found underneath the bed in Maidstone where the teen accused of murdering Daniel "Dave Thomas was "being harboured", court heard today (Tuesday). The letters were read out to the jury at Chelmsford Crown Court on the fifth day of the trial of Priscilla Scamp, 18, Centurion Way, Purfleet, who is accused of murdering Daniel Thomas, 59, in a flat at 38a Darnley Road, Grays at or near to April 14th, last year.

In most cases, ECFRS is unable to help as the service only deals with flooding incidents where life is at risk. When flooding is caused by rain - as was the case overnight - pumping the water from a person's home or garden does not solve the problem. It simply moves it to the next home or garden or it floods straight back in as it is being pumped.

Bulphan WI: January report

Other future events include a 6-week yoga course at Bulphan School, on Thursdays in March and the first week in April: only £10 for the whole course. In February, yoga teacher Karen de Villiers will give us a taster. Kath Edwards will also have jewellery for sale £1 - £10. We have a coach trip to the Olympic site in May and hope to begin our walking, cycling and swimming activities again in the Spring.
