Awards galore at the Thurrock Drama Festival

THERE WAS a host of awards given out at the Thurrock Drama Festival at the Thameside Theatre on Saturday night. The festival ran over eight nights and illustrated the depth of acting talent across the region.

Sun shines on the Thurrock Beer Festival

IT IS THAT time of year when the sun comes out just in time for the Thurrock Beer Festival. The revellers were queueing as they festival based at the civic hall at Blackshots opened at midday on Tuesday. As usual, there is a vast array of beers, both classics and newcomers. There is a whole feast of entertainment from Morris dancers to the excellent Pink Floyd tribute act, Any Colour You Like on Saturday evening.

Thurrock hosts launch of Essex Arts Trail

IT WAS only a couple of years ago, that a handful of artists met on a cold Friday evening at the Thameside to discuss how they could bring Thurrock artists closer together. Just over two years later, Thurrock had the honour on Friday (May 31st) of hosting the launch of the Essex Arts Trail

Thurrock Beer Festival starts Tuesday

THURROCK Lifestyle Solutions have set a date for their AGM. The date is Friday June 21st between 4pm and 5pm. The meeting will be held at Corringham Hall. Springhouse Road.

Skinheads invade Coalhouse Fort (all in the name of art!)

COALHOUSE Fort was "invaded by skinheads" in the name of art. Funded by the Arts Council England and Tower Supporters Group, artist Lynn MacRitchie and her professional film production team worked with residents of Thurrock and Students from the University of Essex.
