BACK in February, things were looking very bleak. When they lost 4-1 at home to Canvey Island on Feb 22nd, they looked like a busted flush. The re-structuring looked like a high risk strategy indeed. But it worked and since then Grays have either won games or gone down fighting. They have finished in 14th position, mid-table respectability and can rightly re-claim their position as the best team in the borough.
THE second half was an entertaining affair with Tilbury holding possession for long periods. IT all comes down to the final day of the season. Impressive victory for East Thurrock, winning away at Enfield 5-3. Good win for Aveley away from home and Grays looked a little weary as they lost 4-1 at home to Thamesmead. Vital three points for Thurrock as they chase that play off place.
