Fun day in Corringham for little Harry

Harry Mills, aged four, is suffering from tuber sclerosis. The disease causes epilepsy and poor Harry can suffer from up to ten fits per day. His mother has organised the fun day on Saturday September 15th to raise funds for the two charities helping Harry, the Tuberous Sclerosis Association and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

MARTIN Steel from the Rotary Club of Butare, South Rwanda, visited while on Annual leave to update the members on the work of Veterinaires Sans Frontiers. This is an organization based in Belgium that instigated the Proxivet Project where the farmers in Rwanda are taught how to keep their animals healthy and thus the community.

Charity fund raiser in Stanford is a great success

Money was raised through various activities; a rugby game in the baking heat, auction and raffle, waxing, have a go at pole dancing, hog roast and BBQ, Karaoke, and many other silly ideas that raised a few quid to the cause. The original target of £1,000 was set when the idea was purely a game of rugby but it just goes to show the generosity and club spirit as the event took off into a major fund raiser.
