Set in the industrial hinterlands of England, Arterial is a poetic meditation on the influence of landscape and environment on our state of mind.
A 40-year-old man from Chafford Hundred who has recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes is taking on the challenge of the London Marathon to raise vital funds for Diabetes UK. Phil Cunningam, a company director, had already signed up to run the marathon but when he was diagnosed with the condition decided he would raise money for Diabetes UK.
THE RULING Thurrock Council Labour Cabinet will sit on Wednesday night to consider the proposals for a new football stadium on the Billet Field in Stanford-le-Hope. Cabinet first considered the potential relocation of East Thurrock United Football Club (“ETUFC”) to the Billet Field at its meeting in January 2014.
A NEW Martial Arts academy, accessible to all, was opened by the deputy mayor of Thurrock on Friday. Deputy Mayor, cllr Wendy Curtis, joined by a host of civic dignitaries at the Civic Square gym.

HOLLYWOOD star Russell Brand dropped in on his old school last week as a special treat for all the students. Russell went to the school a few years ago, when it was called Grays School.
THE event honoured Achievement award winners aged 11-25 who received medallions to go with their framed certificate and a cheque for £200, already presented. They were nominated by their peers and leaders, winning awards for a variety of achievements but mostly for doing their best.
The event is organised annually with the children, aged up to 11, decorating their own Easter bonnets, before parading them on the walk to the local church.
The morning was a big success and the children had a wonderful time.
AFTER their great success in the Voices Now Festival at the Roundhouse in Camden last year, the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus returns to London at the invitation of the prestigious Brandenburg Choral Festival to perform alongside some of the leading choirs from around Britain.
