FOLLOWING extensive restoration works on the town’s local war memorial, the organising committee would like to invite Stanford-le-Hope residents to a re-dedication event which will mimic the original memorial dedication service from 1920, which dedicated the memorial to the lost and fallen of The Great War.

A MOBILE phone app which explains the history and wildlife of a new 29-mile footpath along the Thames Estuary linking Tilbury to Leigh-on-Sea has just been launched. The app was launched when the Thames Estuary Footpath was formally opened by Essex County Council deputy cabinet member, Cllr Ray Howard, who has lived by the Thames Estuary for the whole of his life.

FIRE CREWS were called to a fire on the 13th floor at flats on Godman Road in Chadwell St Mary. The fire was in the bin chute room and crews quickly extinguished the fire by 19:45hrs.
THE theft happened at the tills in Primark, Lakeside, at around 8.40pm on July 11. The female suspect picked up a wedding ring that had been left behind on the till, before placing it in her handbag and leaving the store.
MEMBERS of Thurrock Council’s licensing sub-committee turned down a bid to extend opening hours at a Stanford-le-Hope pub on three successive Fridays in August. The sub-committee met on Thursday (24 July) evening to consider whether a temporary event notice should be granted for the Inn on the Green.
