All 10 young people, aged between 15 and 17, who signed up to the scheme qualified for the Bronze Art Award which is a key part of the highly regarded project. The colleges have been running nationwide for six years and this year Thurrock secured funding from Unitas to become one of 45 running across the country. AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into expenses claims by members of the Essex Police Authority. Chief Constable Jim Barker-McCardle has agreed to call in the Metropolitan police to conduct the probe.

Two men have been charged over a fatal crash involving four vehicles on the M25 in Essex more than 10 months ago. Izabela Derbis, 27, a Polish national, of Warren Street, London, died in the crash in South Ockendon, on 15 October.
At 3.55pm on Sunday, August 21, suspects threw an object from the Belhus Park access bridge, which can be accessed from Gatehope Drive, South Ockendon, which crosses the M25. It hit the car travelling on the motorway, causing £90 damage.
