FOR THE THIRD year running, Harris Academy (Chafford Hundred) has come top of the league in the GCSE exam results. The school gained 85% for students gaining 5 or more GCSE's at A* to C. It is no longer about the remarkable rise; it is about the journey through the educational stratosphere.
Headmistress Miss Brister said: "Congratulations to all our students on their hard work. Thank you to staff for their support. "We are delighted that our 5A*-C pass rate has risen by 17% this year to 95%. The percentage of candidates achieving two A*-C at GCSE or equivalent in Science has risen from 33% to 86%.
Headteacher, Steve Munday said: "We are delighted that our students have done so well. The dedication and commitment from every student as well as the support parent and staff give is tremendous. "These are our best results in history and is just part of such exciting times for William Edwards.
On Tuesday 26th June Year 10 were involved in a day preparing for the mock interviews which take place on 24th October and for subsequent job applications. The day began with a presentation from Steve Cox, Assistant Chief Executive at Thurrock Council, talking about the opportunities coming to Thurrock.
PALMER'S students continue the Borough’s celebrations with superb A-Level results and 100% pass rates in an incredible 25 subject areas. Subjects with a 100% pass rate include Mathematics, Economics, Law, Chemistry, German and Physical Education. Last year 19 subjects gained a 100% pass rate.
I probably felt relieved when I first saw my results. I’ve had a lot of sleepless nights wondering whether I’d got the grades to get into uni and then when it sunk in I was speechless and overjoyed. Not so, Clearing as it is known is the process that people have to go through if they find themselves without a place after their exam results have been received. Applicants without a place, or who are late deciding that they wish to apply to university or college can use Clearing until the middle of September.
