A TILBURY community organisation has announced a change in its leadership. A community champion who has long been involved in the Tilbury area is stepping down from her role of Chair at One Community Development Trust.

Wig-wearing woman after petrol theft from Asda

POLICE want to identify a man caught on CCTV at the time that a quantity of petrol was stolen from an Asda filling station at Thurrock Park Way in Tilbury. The theft happened at around 9.45am on Thursday January 2. A man pulled up at the station in a green Ford Focus and filled the car with more than £50 of petrol but then left the premises without making any attempt to pay.

POLICE are attempting to reunite several items of jewellery with their rightful owners after finding them at the side of the street in Grays. Neighbourhood policing officers had been on patrol on Advice Avenue on Monday, December 30, 2013 when they discovered the bracelets, earrings and rings in a hedge.

POLICE would like to speak to this man about the theft of meat from a shop in South Ockendon. A man walked into the Co-op, in Canterbury Parade, at about 8.30pm on January 6 and selected some meat items from the display before putting them into a shopping basket.

Man rescued after falling near sea wall in East Tilbury

EMERGENCY services battled to rescue a man who had fallen six feet down a sea wall in East Tilbury. Firefighters were called at just after 1.30 pm to assist paramedics to rescue a man who had fallen six foot down a grassy bank next to the sea wall ar Coalhouse Fort.
