Two other male drivers were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They were a 25-year-old man from Stanford-le-Hope, driving a grey Ford Sierra and a 22-year-old man from Corringham driving a blue Ford Fiesta. Both were released on bail pending further enquiries to August 6, 2011.
On Wednesday (15 June), Frank Bennett, of Laird Avenue, Grays, appeared before magistrates in Basildon. The court heard that in September last year he had applied to Thurrock Council for the renewal of his PHV licence when it became apparent the licence had lapsed in the previous February.

Operation Obligatesaw the Kent off-road team patrolling the Nature Reserve which has been subject of many complaints from local walkers and cyclists. Within minutes a large quad bike had been stopped and seized as the vehicle was found to be stolen. A futher three motorcyclists were stopped. One motorcycle was seized and the other two riders were given Section 59 anti-social riding warnings meaning that if caught again their motorcycle will be seized.
Danny O’Bryan, a 21-year-old mechanic from Church Lane in Bulphan, Essex, railway worker Benjamin Murphy, 25, of Austen Close, Loughton, Essex and 24-year-old social worker Charles Onyemelukwe, of Cubitt Street in Camden, in north London were last night charged with one count of conspiracy to rob.
The victim is a man in his late 40s, six-feet tall with short receding hair. He wears casual clothes and only usually visits friends on foot, locally, though sometimes he travels to Grays. Police are hoping to hear from anyone who may have seen the assault, or who may have heard about it since. Economies of scale in the procurement and management of IT systems show that the more forces can work together with single systems, the greater the savings are, both in capital and revenue costs in the medium to long term.
The aim initially will be to make savings of £3million-£4million over a four-year period. This will be in addition to savings of nearly £6million already made through collaboration between Essex Police and Kent Police IT departments.

He has also served for the last two years as neighbourhood inspector for the South Ockendon, South West Thurrock and Aveley area, so he has a good grasp of local needs and concerns.
TWO MEN ARRESTED in connection with the death of a horse at a farm in North Stifford will have no further action taken against them. They were arrested last month after a pony was found at a farm on Monday, 9 May, with injuries which proved to be fatal.
A MAN WAS stabbed following a mass brawl outside the Dog and Partridge public house in High Road, North Stifford. The attack happened close to midnight on Friday.

On the 10th May, this year, Lorraine Ramsay, 42 of Albany Heights, Grays had downed fifteen vodkas and cranberrys in what was described as a "typical binge drinking session" following the death of her husband in January. She contacted the police to tell them she was going to the cash machine in Grays but was "taking her scissors with her for protection."
