Teenagers stopped and alcohol seized in undercover sting

A total of 175 units of alcohol (equivalent to 76 pints of normal lager) were seized during the evening which saw around 20 stop checks on young people. One arrest was also made for an alleged breach of bail conditions. Investigations are now continuing with all those involved to decide on further action and potential prosecutions.

Jenny Dowman, of Portsea Road, Tilbury, has been fined £150 and ordered to pay £200 costs after pleading guilty to failing to comply with a Noise Abatement Notice issued by Thurrock Council.

Woman robbed at Daneholes roundabout

Investigating officer, Dc Dean Batson, said: “The woman was thankfully uninjured during this ordeal, but it would have been incredibly frightening for her. We want to speak to anyone that was in the area at the time that may have seen this suspect loitering around.”

Investigating officer, Pc Richard Smears, said: “The victim remembers seeing a group of youths hanging around on the crescent part of Foyle Drive where it meets Gatehope Drive, and I am keen to speak to this group or anyone that may have seen them in the area, as they could hold information vital to our investigation. This was a very nasty attack on a man who was just walking home after a night out, so if you can help in any way, I urge you to contact us.”

Man sought after woman seriously assaulted in Grays

A 24-year-old local woman was walking home when she was approached by a man who offered to walk with her. She walked with him along London Road for a while before he sexually assaulted her. He is described as Eastern European, aged between 20 and 30 years, with short dark hair wearing a grey top and jeans.

Driver robbed in South Ockendon

The robbery happened around 4am on Saturday. A 21-year-old delivery driver had parked his white Luton van and opened the rear doors when he was attacked from behind by two men.

Thugs wanted after brutal beating at train station

British Transport Police (BTP) detectives are appealing for information after a teenager was beaten up for not handing his phone over in an attempted robbery at Pitsea rail station on Monday, 14 February.
